MOSCOW, may 8. /TASS/ — the Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu congratulated servicemen on Victory Day and ordered a celebratory fireworks on may 9. On Friday the newspaper “Red star”.
“To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the great Patriotic war 1941-1945, order of may 9, 2020 at 22:00 local time to make artillery salutes with the involvement of military units of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation in the capital of our country hero city Moscow the cities-heroes Volgograd, Kerch, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg (the hero-city of Leningrad), Sevastopol, Smolensk, In Tula, as well as in the cities, where deployed headquarters of military districts, fleets, combined arms armies and the Caspian flotilla, thirty blanks volleys of artillery and launches fireworks firing units in accordance with the norms of consumption of ammunition and fireworks”, — said in the order, published in the newspaper.
Shoigu also said that “special words of gratitude on this festive day, deserve veterans of the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945, which became for all of us a model of true patriotism, courage and perseverance”.
Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that it was postponing preparations for the may 9 Victory day parade. As reported by Shoigu, the Russian defense Ministry has prepared a commemorative program that will allow the Russians to feel festive atmosphere.
