A 23-year-old woman was fatally injured by a gunshot on Wednesday evening in Weilrod, Hesse, north of Frankfurt am Main. Her partner, a 23-year-old member of the federal police, was temporarily arrested by emergency services at the scene. The Frankfurt public prosecutor’s office and the West Hesse police headquarters announced this in a joint statement.
At around 8:25 p.m., several emergency calls were received about the sound of a gunshot on Seelenberger Weg in the Mauloff district. When the emergency services arrived on site, they could only determine that the young woman was dead. Her partner was also on site and was arrested without resistance. The suspect’s service weapon, which initial investigations indicate was the murder weapon, was seized. The exact circumstances of the crime currently require further investigation.
The suspect is being investigated on suspicion of manslaughter. The Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor’s office will bring him before the investigating judge at the Frankfurt am Main district court today.
