The working group on creation of the Russian analogue of “Wikipedia” disbanded, but the project will continue.
According to “Kommersant”, the order of the government abolishing the working group on the establishment of a Russian analogue of “Wikipedia” on the basis of the Great Russian encyclopedia (GRE), was published on the portal of legal acts.
Thus, according to the Deputy Minister of communications Alexey Volin who were part of the group, the new project will continue. The working group disbanded because it had fulfilled the challenges it faces, he said.
It was reported that the development of the analogue of “Wikipedia” will require about 2 billion rubles.
Wrote News.ru previously, the Ministry of digital development, communications and mass communications of the Russian Federation prepared a draft law on approval of rules of subsidies to the publishing house “Great Russian encyclopedia” to creating an interactive, encyclopedic portal, similar to Wikipedia. Later, the Chairman of the Duma Committee for education and science Boris Chernyshov called the idea impractical.
