Achinsk alumina plant “RUSAL” appeared in a critical situation because of an accident on the railway: the company is cut off from the supply of raw materials. The company noted that the remains of normative nepheline ore at the plant close to the minimum, and asked the Railways to arrange delivery on an alternative scheme and to provide the priority pass trains with raw materials. Otherwise it would threaten the supply of alumina Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant.The supply of raw materials of the Krasnoyarsk aluminium factory “Rusala” are under threat due to the destruction of the railway embankment on the section of track Achinsk-2—Nazarovo Krasnoyarsk railway. This is stated in the official statement of “RUSAL”. According to RZD, June 7 at 5:42 Moscow time on the two-lane stretch Ului—Suburban Krasnoyarsk railway (Achinsk district of Krasnoyarsk region) have been undermining way because of the loss of a large amount of precipitation. The train stopped, going restoration work.The section has carried out the transportation of nepheline concentrate for Achinsk aluminous plant (AGK). Now the supply of raw materials to the plant is completely stopped, therefore its normative remnants of “close to critical minimum”. AGK produces alumina to supply the Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant. “B” sent a request to the “RUSAL” to clarify the terms, which will be enough raw materials inventory on AGK.Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant (KrAZ) is the largest producer of aluminium in the “RUSAL”. In the first quarter, the plant produced 256 thousand tons of aluminium (Bratsk aluminum plant — 251 thousand tons). The power of KrAZ is 1 million tonnes of metal per year. The share of the plant accounts for 27% of the total produced in Russia aluminium and 3% of world production. AGK in the first quarter is inferior for the production of alumina only Theological aluminum plant, releasing 228 thousand tons compared to 240 thousand tons.The company is negotiating with RZD (the“y” sent a request to a monopoly) to efficiently organize the transport of raw materials by AGK on the bypass routes.
