the head of the Institute of emergency children’s surgery and traumatology Leonid Roshal, receiving the medal of Labour Hero from the President, urged to make healthcare one of Russia’s best in the world and stood up for the Kaliningrad doctors hospital, accused of killing a premature baby.
“We have to make in every corner of Russia, where people live, in the North, South, East and West, in a small town or big – it needs to receive quality and affordable health care,” said Roshal.
“But I have to comply with the request of the medical community and to say that you need to look carefully at what is happening in Kaliningrad, where two doctors on trial for murder. This was not in Russia since 1953. I don’t want to put pressure on the court, but I want to say that he is ready to come out there to explain why it’s all wrong,” Roshal said.
“the Russian doctors were and will be loyal to the nation, and the earnest of it – the Constitution. And the sooner we accept it – I selfishly say about the section on health care, it will be better for the country”, – concluded the head of the Institute of emergency pediatric surgery and traumatology.
Recall that in 2019, the Investigative Committee charged with killing newborn by the acting chief physician of maternity hospital of the Kaliningrad region №4 Elena White and resuscitation Elina Sushkevich. The case was brought on the death of a premature baby weighing 700 grams.
