The eleven-year-old boy, who was rescued from the ice-cold Lahn after a rubber dinghy accident on Sunday, is dead. As reported by several media, citing the police, the boy died on Sunday evening from his serious injuries.
The miraculous rescue near Dautphetal in the Hessian district of Marburg-Biedenkopf was reported on Sunday: the missing boy was saved after hours of searching. Then he came to the hospital.
At the time of the accident with the inflatable boat, there were another child and two adults in the boat in addition to the boy. All three could have saved themselves on land, it is said. It was not yet known whether this was the eleven-year-old’s family.
With numerous emergency services and a helicopter, the boy was searched for on Saturday between the districts of Friedensdorf and Buchenau.
