MOSCOW, may 8. /TASS/. the Largest banks of the Russian Federation did not provide clients the opportunity to open accounts without personal identification at the Bank. On Friday the newspaper reports RBC.
According to the publication, the number of credit organizations, in particular, Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank announced that the client can open the account only in the Bank or order a card online. In this case it will be delivered by the courier, and who hold the client’s identity.
In turn, the Bank of Russia said that the credit organization will start to open accounts in a remote mode when service will be demanded by clients. The representative of the regulator added that the credit institution have the technical capabilities to provide such services and can obtain information about the client with the help of modern means of communication.
Earlier, the Central Bank of Russia allowed credit institutions until July 1 of this year to open accounts for customers remotely. This measure applies to accounts opened with the purpose of socially important payments. CBR also temporarily eased the requirements for banks to identify customers for transactions on the mortgage remotely.
