JSC “RZD” from April 7 to cancel dozens of trains and the train “Sapsan” between Moscow and St. Petersburg will be reduced, the report said holding company.
Will be temporarily reduced frequency of plying 37 trains of the Federal passenger company, 53 trains are canceled (LIST). Changes will affect the timetable of high-speed trains “Sapsan”. Daily from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back will be sent for 3 pairs of trains less.
the Decision to change the schedule is accepted only in cases where the train is the alternative route or if the demand for tickets is less than 25% of the total number of seats.
“To ensure the continuity of rail service to small settlements will be introduced additional stops for transit trains plying on routes cancelled. In case of other trains on the route there and to suggest an alternative railway communication is impossible, these trains remain”, – emphasized in the Ministry of Railways.

Passengers will be offered to travel along the planned routes for the same dates or close to them on other trains, or to receive in full amount the funds for tickets sold to the canceled trains.
“the improvements and increasing demand for passenger transport, the Russian Railways will promptly restore the network in full, and, if necessary, will increase the supply to passengers”, – assured the company.
Earlier, Russian Railways reduced the frequency of plying of a number of long-distance trains on the background of the situation with the coronavirus that caused a drop in demand.
