The film Viking, by Stéphane Lafleur, dominates the nominations for the 25th edition of the Gala Québec Cinéma, the finalists of which were revealed this Tuesday.
The comedy-drama is nominated in 18 categories, including best film, best direction and best screenplay. Its main actors, Steve Laplante and Larissa Corriveau, are both nominated for an acting award.
The films Babysitter, by Monia Chokri, The Red Rooms, by Pascal Plante, and The Diver, by Francis Leclerc, also did well with 14, 13 and 12 nominations respectively.
In total, 47 films will share the Iris awards in 30 categories.
To highlight his impressive career which spans more than 50 years, actor Rémy Girard will be awarded the Tribute Iris.
Led by Jay du Temple, the Gala Québec Cinéma will be broadcast on Sunday, December 10, at 8 p.m., on Noovo. The Artisans Gala, hosted by Fabiola Nyrva Aladin, will take place on December 7, at 7:30 p.m., at Studio TD.
