Winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the film Anatomy of a Fall had a good first weekend in Quebec cinemas. In fact, this is the best start in the last ten years for a Palme d’Or-winning feature film.
With revenues of just over $70,000, the film by French director Justine Triet took 7th position at the Quebec box office, said distributor Entract Films in a press release.
We have to go back to 2013 to observe a similar performance. Abdellatif Kechiche’s La vie d’Adèle had raised $80,000 in its first weekend.
A legal drama with thriller overtones, Anatomy of a Fall follows a novelist who, suspected of the murder of her husband, is judged in the presence of her visually impaired son.
