All qualifying competitions for the Olympic games in Tokyo will be finished till 29 Jun 2021. This is stated in a letter to the International Olympic Committee to national committees, the text of which leads to Inside the Games.
the Olympic games were postponed for 2021 in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, they will be held from 23 July to 8 August.
the letter expresses the hope that within a month will be able to provide formats of qualification taking into account the postponement of Games. It is noted that “full information on dates and venues yet to be given, it will be published after the lifting of restrictions related to the pandemic coronavirus”.
According to the IOC, the national committees should not deviate from the initial rules for the conduct of qualifying events. More difficult is the situation with licenses that are allocated on the basis of the rating, it is recommended to consider the interests of athletes who were close to getting to the Games in 2020.
Earlier, the IOC said that all the athletes who have already qualified for the Games in Tokyo will remain licensed for the Olympic games (currently played 57% of vouchers).
