The government should support the aviation industry of the Russian Federation, which competes on equal terms with foreign producers, and in the sphere of military aircraft demonstrates superiority. This was stated on Wednesday by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on support of the aviation industry and air travel.
He stressed that Russia is among few countries able to produce the whole range of military and civil aircraft and helicopters. "Russian aircraft in many ways they compete with foreign counterparts, with the leaders of the world market, and, by the way, according to some [parameters], according to combat aircraft – are much greater", – Putin said.
"In the current situation it is necessary to maintain base industry, namely, aircraft-industry enterprises, give a download of this complex, in many aspects, unique production," said the head of state.
