Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to create a National database of genetic information. About it reports TASS.
With such initiative the head of state addressed the meeting on the development of genetic technologies in Russia. “Utilizing our significant expertise and experience in bioinformatics, propose to establish a National database of genetic information”, — he said.
Earlier, Putin also called on Russian companies to invest in the genomic world-class centres to be established in the country under the national project “Science.” According to him, the Russian business needs “to connect to the mainstream, what is called for key areas of development, using its financial resources”.
Create at least three centers of genomic research provided by the national project “Science”, which should be implemented in Russia to 2024. Only its implementation is planned to more than 625 billion rubles. He also suggests the creation of 15 scientific and educational centers of the world level, commissioning research facilities class “magicians” and the formation of an integrated system of training scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel.
