The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated workers and veterans of the mining and metallurgical complex of the Russian Federation with the Day of Metallurgist. The telegram published Sunday on the website of the Kremlin.
"Mining and metallurgical complex has always played an important role in the history of our country, in the development of its economic, energy, defense capabilities and strengthen the industrial power of the Fatherland, and the work of miners and metallurgists, requiring higher skills and special human qualities, the right to enjoy honour and respect. And today the complex is one of the key basic industries of the national economy with a wonderful, seasoned time traditions", – said the head of state.
Putin stressed that metallurgical industry demonstrates good growth expands the range of products, developing new markets, launching a large scale that meets the most advanced technological and environmental standards projects in Cherepovets, Novolipetsk and the Vyksa plants, and other enterprises.
"Despite the difficult situation associated with the spread of the epidemic of the coronavirus, the industry continues to invest and build," the President added.
The Metallurgist’s day is celebrated on the third Sunday of July. Established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 28 September 1957.
