Senator Alexei Pushkov called absurd calls to impose sanctions against Russia because of the protests in Belarus. About this he wrote on his page on the microblogging network Twitter.

“From Poland with hatred. This appeal is absurd, but it shows that the anti-Russian European elite reflex accuses Russia around under any pretext – or no pretext”, – Pushkov commented on the statement of the Deputy of European Parliament from Poland Jacek Saryusz-Wolski. According to the Russian Senator, “like him haters of Russia in Poland a lot”. And in some EU countries, listen to them, regretted it.

In another tweet Pushkov has noticed that “Russophobic wing in the EP ready to use any pretext – and even failing to call for new sanctions against Russia.” In his opinion, it is unlikely this appeal will be supported by a majority in the EU. “While it’s a single shot. But he indicates the direction of the next attack on Russia”, – said Pushkov.

Russophobic wing in the EP ready to use any pretext – and even failing to call for new sanctions against Russia. I don’t think this appeal will be supported by a majority in the EU. While it’s a single shot. But it indicates the direction of another attack on Russia.
