At a wedding celebration in Bendorf (Mayen-Koblenz district) on Friday there was a physical argument between family members of the bride and groom. According to the police, the trigger was probably the refusal to shake hands. From this a brawl developed, in which around ten people took part, so that several emergency calls were received by the police.
Several patrol cars then rushed to the scene. The officials calmed the situation down immediately and separated the parties. After the facts were recorded, the celebration ended.
Nine people were slightly injured in the incident, three of whom had to be taken to the hospital for examination. Police investigations into the process are ongoing. Several criminal charges for bodily harm, threats and insults were recorded.
