Producer Joseph Prigogine evaluated the position of artists working in Russia, in an interview with newspaper “Sobesednik”.
According to him, unlike colleagues abroad, who earn participation in festivals and television broadcasts and Russian artists “work like serfs”. The producer said that the musicians often sit in the jury at the song festivals, but they do not pay for it.
“Only two artist said at the time: “no Freebies!” is Sergey Shnurov and Alla Pugacheva. If all the actors behaved, then we would have a different attitude,” — said Prigogine.
Earlier Joseph Prigozhin has declared, that now artists are forced to “eat away what was possible in his time to save”. According to him, in such a situation are currently musicians, dancers, actors and circus performers. Thus, according to the producer, the situation will improve not earlier than six months. He also added that, most likely, even after the removal of all restrictions on the holding of mass events, the audience immediately start buying concert tickets.
the producer said that artists, like other citizens, pay taxes and the government should return money to them if they are in a difficult situation and need support.
