Sadio Mané, the spectacular new signing at FC Bayern Munich, can take many positions on the pitch. When asked where he prefers to see himself, the Senegalese refers to his coach.

Big presentation on Wednesday in Munich: Sadio Mané is introduced to the press in the Allianz Arena. When asked which position he would most like to play, he said: “I think the coach should answer that question.” Mané smiles and points to Nagelsmann. And further: “I’m a player who plays in three or four positions and I think I feel comfortable everywhere there.”

Short, compact, clear

He doesn’t want a position at all: Mané is flexible, but of course he doesn’t see himself at the back. He said to Nagelsmann: “I’m glad if he doesn’t put me in goal or in defence.”

Pressure on teammates is growing: The Sturm-Star is mainly suspected to be on the wing. Sport director Hasan Salihamidzic: “He is flexible and can play any position, he has a quality that every team can use. The competition is on.”
