Postmen for delivery of money, car drivers and escort of cash, drivers, couriers and other employees of Mail of Russia and Mail of the Crimea will provide weapons and special means of protection. The relevant government decree shall enter into force on 6 August.
The document specifies the rules of decision of the Cabinet dated 26 January 2005, No. 38, which authorized the employees of the Federal postal communication when performing tasks for the protection of postal items and monetary funds to apply office and civil weapon and special means of protection. Among the special equipment for the protection of postmen are “mechanical sprayers, spray and other devices lachrymatory or irritating substances, electroshock devices and spark gaps”.
The decision established new standards provide weapons postmen for delivery of money, car drivers and escort of cash, drivers, couriers and other employees of Mail of Russia and Mail of the Crimea.
