Ukraine should become an EU member, and the task of government — to bring this day closer. About this on his page in Facebook wrote the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
In his opinion, the instrument of comprehensive preparation for the achievement of this goal is a signed six years ago the Association Agreement with the EU. “One signature, we have laid enduring foundations for the European integration of Ukraine”, — said Poroshenko.
He added that the Ukrainians are moving in a community of free and prosperous people, even though the “incredible complexity, economic turbulence and war with the aggressor”. Among the successes of the last six years, the politician called for Ukraine bezveza, the creation of a free trade area and deepening sectoral integration.
“no one is allowed to review and, God forbid, distract Ukraine from the course and to return the Ukrainian people in Moscow stall” — compare Poroshenko on possible ways of development of the country, stressing that the current government “loudly declare their commitment to the European integration course” without real cases.
On 18 June the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that the country requires full membership in the EU: “"Eastern partnership" shall not limit the ambitions of the partners. Someone enough of the political dialogue, to strategic partnership with the EU, someone committed to the integration of the common market on the basis of "four freedoms", while others, like Ukraine, require full membership in the EU.”
Ukraine’s course on joining the European Union, enshrined in the Constitution. The relevant law in February 2019 was signed by the then President of the country Petro Poroshenko. The current head of state has repeatedly stated that he also supports the Euro-Atlantic way of development of Ukraine.
