the Russian side has commented on the next sanctions the plans of Washington against the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream – 2”. The United States recalled that such “solutions” not only seriously hit the companies in Europe, the need for energy security which so many “baked” in Washington, but also violate international law.
Press Secretary of the project on construction of the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic sea “Nord Stream – 2” AG Jens müller in conversation with journalists commented on the US plans to impose new sanctions in respect of the project.
According to Mueller, any extraterritorial sanctions are a violation of international law. Moreover, this opinion is shared by representatives of the European Commission.
“Speedy delivery pipeline meets the interests of EU energy security, European consumers, economic competitiveness of the region… Any such threat of sanctions is unlawful discrimination of European companies”, – said the representative of the project “Northern stream – 2”, whose words are quoted by TASS.
