In the dispute over working conditions at Eurowings, the Vereinigung Cockpit pilots’ union called for a day-long strike at the Lufthansa subsidiary on Thursday.

The negotiations on the collective bargaining agreement at Eurowings had failed, the VC announced on Tuesday. “Ten rounds of negotiations, two of them after the clear signal of the ballot, have not led to any significant rapprochement.”

A central requirement was the relief of the employees, for example by reducing the maximum flight duty times and increasing the rest periods.

Most recently, the pilots of the Eurowings mother Lufthansa had also gone on strike. At the end of the summer holidays, the company agreed with the union on better pay for the pilots.
