On the Progress I want to work out a new scheme of transporting crews to the ISS

MOSCOW, 25 APR – RIA Novosti. The elements of a super-fast two-hour scheme of transporting crews to the International space station (ISS) can work in flight the next cargo ship “Progress”, said the chief of ballistics of Rocket-space Corporation “Energy” (enterprise “Roscosmos”) Rafail Murtazin.

currently, the manned spacecraft Soyuz crews fly to the ISS on a six-hour fast (chetyrehvalkovoj) scheme. Four Progress spacecraft, including a runaway on Saturday “the Progress MS-14”, tested ultra-fast three-hour (double) scheme of the flight to the station.

In December 2019, Roskosmos announced plans to test in 2020 a two-hour super-fast (single-turn) scheme, but did not elaborate on what ship.

“If everything will go well, if we give good, and “Roscosmos” will support us, we are ready for the next “truck”, which will undock (from the ISS), to simulate elements of the single-turn scheme,” said Murtazin in the course of the broadcast of the launch of “Progress MS-14” on the website of Roskosmos.

According to him, after departure from the station “Progress” will simulate single-turn scheme without convergence of docking with the ISS.

Run the following ship “Progress MS-15” to the station is scheduled for July 23, and its undocking from ISS in late 2020 or early 2021.
