In the course of the unsanctioned rallies in Belarus detained about 270 people. This figure is called in the press service of the interior Ministry, Interfax reports. The Agency encourages residents and guests of the country “not to break the law and not to create a conflict, a provocative situation.”
This week in Belarus held two large-scale actions in support of alternative presidential candidates. With the authorities, they were not agreed. On June 18 in Minsk a picket of solidarity lasted seven hours, the participants lined up in a five-kilometer queue. Another rally was held on June 19 in Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Vitebsk, Grodno, Mogilev, Soligorsk and other Belarus cities.
On Friday in Belarus completed the stage of collecting signatures for nomination of candidates to the presidential candidates. Elections are scheduled for August 9.
