A man is said to have raped a woman at Spittelmarkt on New Year’s Eve morning. The police are asking for information from witnesses and have published photos and videos from surveillance cameras.

Using photos and videos from surveillance cameras, Berlin police are searching for a man who is said to have raped an 18-year-old.

The man is said to have left the U2 towards Pankow at the Spittelmarkt subway station at around 3:15 a.m. on New Year’s Eve 2023 (night of December 30th/31st) and followed a young woman and her companion into Wallstrasse, as the police announced on Wednesday. There the man is said to have carried out sexual acts on the 18-year-old against the resistance of the women.

According to police, the suspect is 25 to 35 years old and around 1.70 meters tall. He has dark skin, short dark hair and an athletic, muscular build. At the time of the crime he was wearing a black jacket with the words “Contemporary” on the hood and white sneakers.
