We invited the townspeople to record a video where they read a fragment of the poem, – said the Deputy Director of the Association of libraries Marina Koval. – To participate in the project gladly accepted experts of management of culture of administration of the city, actors and workers of the Ekaterinburg theatres, writers and poets, journalists, musicians, athletes, students and schoolchildren. No direction is not provided, the recommendations do not give anyone, people read as it tells the soul. Someone will do it, maybe not brilliant, but quite sincerely.
the Choice of play, of course, is not accidental. As you know, Twardowski wrote a poem from 1941 to 1945, making it a living timeline of military events. A new Chapter is published as it appeared. “The book is about a fighter” immediately and for decades to come deserved national love, and today its pages, sounding surprisingly vividly, bring together generations of descendants of those who read it in the lulls in the front line trenches or at the factory bench. Even today, in simple terms, we have the opportunity to evaluate and humor, and the truth, and the optimism of those have been written the lines: “Not servesa, so we break through, we are alive – not dead men”.
the project will involve more than forty people, among them people’s artist of Russia Galina Petrova and Vladimir Smolin from the theatre of musical Comedy, the poet Alexander Kerdan, head coach of basketball club “Ural”, Mikhail Karpenko and others. Each records the video on its own (the reality of isolation), read snippets post on the website of the municipal Association of libraries. The evening of may 8 full video version read by the citizens of the book will be available at the link and you will be our common gift to the Victory Day and mark an important victory over discouragement and involuntary separation.
