North Texas School Districts Navigate Weather-Related Cancellations and Delays
As the mercury dips and a potential wintry mix looms on the horizon, several North Texas school districts are grappling with the decision to delay or cancel after-school events this week. The bone-chilling cold, coupled with the looming threat of slick roads, has prompted numerous districts to err on the side of caution and prioritize the safety of their students and staff.
From Tuesday, February 18, to Thursday, February 20, residents across the region have been advised to brace themselves for an Arctic Blast, courtesy of WFAA’s Weather Alert Days. These frigid conditions are expected to usher in lows in the single digits and teens, with wind chills plummeting well below zero degrees. In light of these harsh conditions, school districts in the area are stepping up to the plate to ensure the well-being of their communities.
