It was the TV surprise message: Dieter Bohlen will return to “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. At the same time, the 20th season should be the last of the cult show. Another DSDS darling is longed for by the fans: Pietro Lombardi. He made hints weeks ago.
It should be a comeback and farewell at the same time. After a one-year break, Dieter Bohlen (68) will be back in his regular place at the jury desk on the RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. At the same time, the broadcaster announced that the 20th season in 2023 should also be the last.
The fans of DSDS veteran Bohlen celebrate his return. And many of them are already demanding the comeback of a second favorite of the show: Pietro Lombardi (30). Not only was he the winner of the eighth DSDS season in 2011 and he has since managed to remain successfully active in the music and media business. In 2019 he became a member of the jury himself. For two seasons he rated the singing talents alongside Bohlen.
When Bohlen confirmed his return, comments like these immediately followed on the music producer’s Instagram page: “Give it full throttle again and get Pietro on board.” Or: “Hope Pietro is there too.” Never chance a winning (Dream) Team.”
The two have proven again and again that the cooperation with Bohlen works very well. Their relationship is friendly. And recently Bohlen recorded the modern-talking remix “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” with Pietro and Katja Krasavice.
When asked, Pietro Lombardi is currently silent on a possible return to the jury of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. He currently does not want to comment on this, said his management when asked.
A few weeks ago, the 30-year-old gave hints that fans should be hopeful. Lombardi answered Instagram when asked if he would be part of the DSDS jury again: “You don’t know what the future will bring, but it will soon be the anniversary season. I think Dieter Bohlen and I could rock it again. But you don’t know, wait and see.”
So Pietro would like to. And what does RTL say? When asked by BUNTE.de, a spokesman explained that questions such as the exact jury composition could not yet be answered. It is planned, however, that there should be a reunion with many companions, finalists and possibly also jurors in the anniversary season. On the occasion of the anniversary, one wanted to look back and celebrate DSDS, he emphasized. So the chances for Lombardi’s supporters are not too bad. Moderator Florian Silbereisen (40) will no longer sit at the jury desk. He had taken over the job of jury chief in the past DSDS season. RTL now wants to develop new program formats with the popular moderator.
