When you ask on social media where you can find the best hamburgers on the South Shore, the name Twisted Burger comes up very often.
The restaurant, opened in 2015 in the LeMoyne sector of Longueuil, offers decadent burgers with a Tex-Mex touch that is definitely worth the detour. In addition, the Velazquez family has just opened its third branch, in the Le Boulevard shopping center, a stone’s throw from the future blue line metro station in Saint-Léonard.
“After our family restaurant in Longueuil and our resto-bar on Avenue du Mont-Royal, we are now trying the concept of a quick service counter,” explains dynamic president Alejandro Velazquez, who arrived in Quebec in 2007, four years later. his sister and his parents. The counter menu has been simplified, we have kept the most popular burgers in addition to adding pizza to the menu, also spiced with Mexican flavors.
Mr. Velazquez admits that the concept, imported from the local chain started by his cousin in Illinois, was more difficult to implement here initially, with customers generally opting for classics. But the most popular dishes are now the Martian, Dragon, Alamo and El Diablo burgers, generously garnished sometimes with guacamole, fresh jalapenos, habanero sauce or even cilantro or chipotle mayo. And all of this is homemade: “We only serve fresh meat, we entrusted our recipe to a butcher shop in LaSalle which supplies us exclusively,” Alejandro Velazquez tells us. Our sauces, our guacamole, our chicken wings, everything is homemade. We want freshness in all our recipes. »
Laval is the next target for the Velazquez family, probably before the end of 2024.
