Sané has a future at Schalke – but not Leroy, who is currently struggling with a career low at Bayern Munich and the national team, but his younger brother Sidi. The 19-year-old extends his contract and is supposed to get a taste of the professionals.
Contract until 2024: FC Schalke 04 has given Sidi Sané, the younger brother of international Leroy Sané (26), a contract until 2024. The 19-year-old striker is to complete a large part of the summer preparations with the Gelsenkirchen Bundesliga team, as Schalke announced on Sunday.
Short, compact, clear
Match practice in the U23s: “We are happy when young players from the Knappenschmiede are given the opportunity to present themselves to the first team. Sidi will remain with the Knappenschmiede insofar as he will gain match practice in the U23s,” said Mathias Schober, director of the youth department.
From his own youth: Sané has been playing for Schalke youth teams since the 2011/2012 season. Last season he was mainly used for the U19s.
