Greg Haas ran the field at Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh
A zealous North Carolina State football fan got a lot more than what he bargained when he celebrated Friday’s Wolfpack win over North Carolina.
North Carolina State trailed by nine points with less than two minutes remaining, but managed to win a 34-30 victory. The field was packed at Carter-Finley Stadium as fans rushed it. Greg Haas was the one who suffered from the effects of hurrying the field. Haas tried to jump over the wall to reach the field, but it didn’t work out as planned.
Hass stated that he landed on his feet but that his leg gave out. He said that he just remembered going face first down after landing. The jump was fine. The landing didn’t work out. He said that he wasn’t sure if he would do it again but didn’t regret.
He said, “It was 100% worthwhile, just living in this moment and to see N.C. State defeat UNC, their archrival on such an ending like this,”
In 26 seconds, the Wolfpack scored two touchdowns. Devin Leary, Wolfpack quarterback, threw both touchdown passes between an onside kick recovery.
North Carolina State will now face Wake Forest in the ACC championship game.
