The American space agency NASA will resume its mission to study Psyche. Task: to explore an asteroid that can make every inhabitant of the Earth a real billionaire. The gold and nickel-rich star is estimated at 10 thousand quadrillion dollars. The launch is scheduled for October 2023, according to the publication 7sur7.
Three years ago, NASA planned to send an unmanned mission to the asteroid Psyche in 2022. However, the mission was postponed due to technical problems, which, according to the US Space Agency, should be resolved by next year. At the moment, the official launch date is set for October 10, 2023. It will be another six years before the unmanned mission reaches its destination in August 2029.
Psyche is among the ten most massive of the asteroid belt. With a width of 226 kilometers, it can contain a core of iron, nickel and gold worth 10 thousand quadrillion dollars. This unimaginable amount in theory could enrich every earthling by 1.3 billion euros. But only theoretically, because NASA is not going to exploit the star.
