Muscovites won four gold medals and one silver medal at the 54th International Mendeleev Olympiad in chemistry.
In the Russian national team included 10 students from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Vologda and Omsk areas. They scored eight gold medals and two silver. All contest participants were 130 students from 27 countries.
this year, the Olympics only consisted of two theoretical rounds. The tasks of the first of them is complexity were consistent with the program of specialized chemical classes. In the second round the participants could choose the task. They had to perform tasks on inorganic, organic, analytical and physical chemistry and also the science of the living.
Two gold medals, representing Moscow, Vasilisa Kislitsyna from school No. 218 and Eugene Epifanov from school № 1589 — will participate in the International chemistry Olympiad which will be held July 25.

international Mendeleev Olympiad is held since 1992. It was the successor of the all-Union Olympiad in chemistry. Next year the competition will be held in Budapest (Hungary).
