Landon Parrott parked his car to take a quick bathroom break. The 19-year-old left his 14-month-old boy behind. It was hot that day in Ohio, about 30 degrees outside, about 55 in the car. When Parrot returned, little Kyler was dead, suffocated in agony, according to the New York Post.
“The child died after being left unattended in the car for about five hours. It’s 30 degrees outside,” New Philadelphia Police Chief Michael Goodwin is quoted as saying don’t bother.”
Surveillance footage showed that Parrott slammed the door at around 8:30 a.m. (local time) and didn’t return until around 1:50 p.m. The child sat in the car for more than five hours without an open window, without air conditioning, without anything to drink, buckled up.
“Justice will be served, but the purpose of this post is to draw everyone’s attention to the existence of Kyler Phillip Allen Parrott. Kyler was an unexpected surprise that changed our world in the best way from the start,” Kyler’s distraught grandparents wrote on Facebook.
Parrott is charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter and dual endangerment of children, police say. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
A private plane crashed into the Baltic Sea on its way from Spain to Cologne. Previously, all contact with the plane was broken off. Air Force Eurojets rose to get a picture of the situation in the air. Four people are said to have been on board the Cessna 551.
