the Total area of flower beds that adorn Moscow this summer, will be about half a million square meters, said Deputy mayor for housing and Peter Biryukov.
“Specialists of the urban center update the flower beds, squares, parks, city squares, and embankments along major highways – said Pyotr Biryukov. Now instead of fades tulips in the flower beds are planted in begonias, Tagetes, petunias, Salvia and ageratum, and the total for the season was produced over 52 million pieces of flower seedlings, including more than 33 million of annual plants”.
According to him, the most beautiful flower beds will draw on Poklonnaya hill, the triumphal arch, near the main building of Moscow state University and on the Boulevard ring.
the Deputy mayor reminded that planting flowers in Moscow traditionally begins after the establishment of stable warm weather. Usually in the eve of may day blooming tulips, bulbs that are planted in the autumn, and in late April they are complemented by the viola.
“this year because of the situation with the spread of the coronavirus was performed in spring preparation of parts of urban areas. So, the Day of Victory adorned with a large flower garden in Moscow located near the arc de Triomphe, its area is nearly six thousand square meters, – said the head of the complex urban economy. Professionals landed there more than 300 thousand flowers viola, which added 100’s of thousands of tulips blooming for the holiday”.
Pyotr Biryukov said that in July and August, the annuals will begin to dilute perennials. Their total number will reach more than 1.2 million units – twice more compared to last year.
“Bright flower beds will delight Muscovites until the fall, and in late September – October will start planting 12.5 million bulbs of tulips, which bloom in the spring of next year,” he said.
