A fascinating research project involving mini hearts heading to space has caught our attention. These tiny artificial heart-tissue structures, known as cardiac organoids, are being studied to understand the effects of microgravity on human heart tissue. Dr. Munmun Chattopadhyay from Texas Tech Health El Paso will be joining us to discuss this groundbreaking project.
Author Alex Hannaford will be talking about his latest book, “Lost in Austin: The Evolution of an American City,” ahead of his appearance at the Texas Book Festival.
In culinary news, Michelin has announced the first recipients of its stars and other designations in its Texas guide, recognizing the culinary scene in the Lone Star State. Laura Rice will be breaking down some of the winners for us.
Travis County voters have approved a tax rate increase to subsidize childcare in Austin, following a report by the Texas Workforce Commission that highlighted the high cost of childcare in the city. KUT News’ Katy McAfee will be sharing more details on this development.
