Supply of meat on the shelves of grocery stores in the United States is shrinking due to pandemic, because of the large factories for the production of pork and beef are closed, according to Bloomberg.
According to the Agency, the industry faces serious difficulties. The largest meat producer in the US – company Tyson – because of the complicated epidemiological situation announced the suspension of operation of the facilities. As a result, since the beginning of the month the wholesale price of beef soared to record levels.
In response, the authorities are considering increasing imports of meat products.
