the Publication writes that Orbital Insights, made a report, which stated that some Russian defense plants allegedly slowing down production, reducing the number of employees who come to enterprises on the background of the pandemic coronavirus. According to the publication, the report is based on anonymous data from cell phones and other information from open sources.
In particular, the report mentions NPTS “salute”, “Uralvagonzavod”, “GidroMash”, the Kazan aviation plant named after Gorbunov.
Defense One writes that the intelligence of the American company used a machine learning and intelligent data processing to data anonymous cell phones received from different partners. Such data supposedly can allow you to monitor trends large-scale movements of people in almost real time.
As stated by the expert of Orbital Insights is Robert Cardillo, it may “inform senior officials about the impact of specific constraints or the impact/consequences of the breach”.
