On 15 July, as reported by Rambler, the Russian State Duma adopted in the second reading a draft law on holding the elections within three days. On July 16 Chairman of the Central election Commission (CEC) of Russia Ella Pamfilova called the September when is a single day of voting, the most unfortunate month for this, and stated that this raises the question of the transfer of the single voting day for another month.
“September of all possible options, in my opinion, (the most. — Approx. ed.) is an acceptable month to the day of voting,” — said Matvienko today.
She noted that the territory of Russia are located in multiple time zone, therefore it is impossible to choose the time of the single day of voting that will satisfy everyone. The speaker of the Federation Council expressed confidence that discussing its transfer is possible and necessary, and hope that someone smart will invent something.
