Learning a New Skill: Trying Out a New Instrument
Many people believe that it’s hard to learn something new as you get older. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. But here I am, a right-handed person, spending hours trying to train my left hand to move independently. Why? Because I want to learn how to play the guitar and make a C chord or an E minor. It’s a challenge, but I keep pushing myself.
Whether it’s mastering multiple keys on the piano, trying out the flute, or exploring any new instrument that catches my eye, I find myself dedicating time and effort to this new skill. It’s tempting to take a break, watch a show, or scroll through Instagram, but I resist the urge. And when I finally hit that note perfectly, it’s a moment of achievement and progress.
