According to official results, won the acting head of state Alexander Lukashenko (80,1% of the vote), and Tikhanovski took second place (10,12%). After the end of voting in cities of Belarus there are mass protests, large enterprises began an indefinite strike.

14 Aug Alexander Lukashenko said that “savadori and organizers” of the protests are the people from abroad, mostly people with criminal records. Lukashenko has advised the country’s citizens “not to get out of the house”, and parents better monitor their children.
He also spoke about the use of force against protesters. According to Lukashenka, “if man is fallen and lies, it is not necessary to beat”. The head of the Republic accused the protesters of disagreement in the aggression against the police.
