According to the world association FIFA, more than half a million tickets have already been sold for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
As FIFA announced on Tuesday night, tickets for the final on August 20 in Sydney are in highest demand. The finals, held for the first time with 32 teams, begin on July 20 in New Zealand’s metropolis Auckland with the match between New Zealand and Norway.

According to FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura, Germany is one of the ten countries that have received the most requests for tickets so far. In addition to the two host countries, tickets are also in particularly high demand in the USA, England, Qatar, China, Canada, Ireland and France.
Vice European champions Germany will start the tournament on July 24 in Melbourne with a game against Morocco. Other opponents in the preliminary round are Colombia on July 30 in Sydney and South Korea on August 3 in Brisbane.
