After Monaco, Azerbaijan is on the Formula 1 calendar and one thing is certain: street racing is exciting and action-packed. The event will be broadcast live on TV on June 12th.

After seven races, the battle for the Formula 1 championship is still open.

An eventful weekend in Monaco rearranged the drivers’ standings. Only 15 points separate the first three drivers: world champion Max Verstappen, Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. The premier class is still exciting and the road circuit of Azerbaijan is always good for a surprise. So it’s worth cheering on Sky.

Anyone who would like to follow the eighth Grand Prix of the Formula 1 season live can do so on the pay-TV channel Sky Sport, which had secured the rights for the entire season. With the Sky streaming service WOW, all races can be streamed live, as can training and qualifying. Formula 2, Formula 3, Porsche Supercup, Extreme E and Indycar Series are on top of that.

Sky Q also has the entire program live. And as a special treat, you also have access to the on-board cameras and many other settings.

Street circuits are among the most exciting races as the margin for error is very small – and unlike Monaco, Baku offers plenty of overtaking opportunities. The past few years have always provided action-packed races: most recently, the accidents of world champion Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll at 340 kilometers per hour (both drivers were unharmed thanks to the safety standards) and Hamilton’s spectacular mistake, which may have cost him the world title. In addition, the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel in the Aston Martin was able to achieve a sensational podium and finish the race in second place.

The different car philosophies of the Red Bull and Ferrari racing teams make it difficult to predict who will be the favorite on this track. Baku is unique due to the combination of long straights and slow, tight corners and thus poses great challenges for the teams to set up the cars correctly. So far, Red Bull has been superior on the straights, while the Ferrari have been the fastest in slow corners. But the upgrades from Mercedes and McLaren also impressed in the last few races and promise even more competition for the podium places. Will Leclerc, who took pole position here last year, start from P1 again or can the Red Bulls match Ferrari’s speed? The answer is on Sunday.
