The Lithuanian Parliament at the plenary session adopted a resolution criticizing Russia in connection with the divergent views on the historical past. The relevant document at the plenary session deputies supported unanimously.

Specifies that the document contains allegations that Russia allegedly rewrites the history of the Second world war. Lithuanian deputies urge the European Parliament, the highest legislative bodies of other countries of Europe and the international community not to tolerate it and resist the spread of so-called misinformation, reports TASS.

Russia has repeatedly stressed that the Baltic States have consistently pursued a line on reviewing the results of the Second world war, downplaying or denying the role of Soviet soldiers in liberating the world from Nazism.

As noted by the Russian Ambassador in Lithuania Alexander Udaltsov in a Thursday interview with Russian-language newspaper Browse local pseudo-historians, declaring the USSR along with Germany the main culprit of the war, pasting the label of “occupiers” on the Soviet soldiers-liberators and geroiziruya Nazi collaborators, defy common sense and the memory of the millions of people who gave their lives in the struggle against the fascist plague.

Udaltsov also reported that the organizers of the action “Immortal regiment” subjected to political persecution in Lithuania.
