Leonid Yakubovich is an excellent is his age and not less striking example of what love and a sense of humor can keep in excellent shape. “MK” was found with the presenter on the eve of the 75th anniversary, and discussed the humor, the agony of creativity and pessimistic optimism.
the Charm of Leonid Abramovich has the power of carpet bombing. For thirty years, during which the Yakubovich is a “Field of dreams”, into his arms, ready to throw millions of fans. For many television viewers, it has become almost a relative, and this kind of intimacy with the audience remains a privilege for the showmen of the old school. He is one of those times when presenters were exceptionally nice people, which inspired confidence and gave the occasion, but if and tickled the nerves are good-naturedly and with a guaranteed happy ending. It is noteworthy that outside the “Ostankino” Leonid Yakubovich turns to lead a life no less meaningful than that which takes place in the Studio of the Grand canal. And he says about his other life with much more pleasure, than about the show, which has already said so much.
— Leonid Abramovich, round date, especially when they have a significant that stir emotions in the spirit “is all of this happening to me?” On the eve of the 75th anniversary you have similar thoughts?
I do not correlate these numbers with you. They live separately from me. I can only say that for 75 years, I learned caution. Said before that I think was friends backhand, backhand fell in love. It has now become careful, and it’s the only thing I regret.
You can certainly be called the realized in all senses man. Although your life might be different if you did not heed parents ‘ advice and still would have acted in a theatrical…
— don’t know if I’d actor in repertory theatre, but once I really wanted. For me the stage is a Holy place. There was some other existence, and in the physical sense. It’s another dimension, and it is most likely better than the one in which I exist in reality.
Your dream somewhat came true when you started to play in the play “bless you, sir”. You end up there accidentally or was deliberately looking for a project?
Producer invited me in and I quite painfully and for a long time about this thought. And then reluctantly agreed. I knew that it would be very difficult to transform, when you keep only the leading “Field of miracles”. But I was incredibly lucky, because there is absolutely a terrific team. Olga Volkova, Leonid Kulagin, Sasha Andrienko, Galina Danilova — just phenomenal actors. Of course, I took the risk because he understood that the first performances will come uncles and aunts with a lip that will say, “Well, he’s still on stage palas, now we’ll see how it happens”. And so it was at first, but over time all of this was rotten. Those with whom I played, they pulled me out, I have them stretched, and, in any case, in this performance, I was accepted into the actors. It’s quite a tough situation, but she led me to the results. I’m satisfied.
You discovered the theatre at a time when art was not so much experimentation as it is now. How you perceive a new and modern theater?
I don’t understand what is happening and not ready to criticize, because criticism I have to offer in return what I think it would be better. But if I can’t, it is better to sit quietly and think about why I don’t like it. For me his Majesty the Russian theater was Holy, so Holy and left. I’ve seen almost all the performances Tovstonogov, we went to Peter stowaways. And “Lenkom”, and andirons, and the great performances of the Theater of satire, all this in front of me and can not escape anywhere. It is if you want a point of reference. And I can’t get rid of, well, nothing. I’m just there forever.
— Your career began in the early career of TV presenter. The first time you appeared in a movie back in 1980. Just like you treat your big and small roles?
— the Movie for me — a huge chunk of life, which is fragmented into many different pieces. For example, I played the grandfather in “Grandfather of my dreams”, which was directed by Sasha Strizhenov, and was very pleased. By the way, the film made of my story, which is also nice. In General, all happened by chance, because we by Strizhenovy could not find the man in the lead role. We didn’t want a professional actor, and the idea was to take dense grandfather from some derevychi, and even if he would have existed in the frame. But in the search we just did not have enough money. And Sasha told me: “Go play by yourself”. Then I went for a big trick. I crossed off all the words, and grandfather I have the dumb. But I really liked it, and all say that it turned out great: and specificity, and gait.
At the time, your interest in aviation manifested itself in the form of role in the series “Russian Amazons”…
I play the Director of the aeroclub, that is, are in their element. And there are some wonderful people: Mikhail Zhigalov, Marina Mogilevskaya, Irina Rozanova, Alena Khmelnitskaya. Just happiness to work with them, because apart from the human qualities they are professionals. Cinema, like television, is an incredible subtleties of the story, just a jewelry thing. Close-up, eyes can not lie. Even the very worst scenario you can still get. We’re brought up on a rather strange movies like “the secret agent”, but as they played. “The investigation leading experts” — a poster series, but as played, what great actors, and what people in the esodah! Now turn on the TV, on the screen appears a man, he even the words didn’t get to say, only his head turned, but I already know that it’s ours. Empty eyes. And this is bad because sometimes there are intricate plots, but as soon as it starts acting, I switch. We had disputes with Vladimir Vladimirovich Pozner. He believes that television is a technology. And I still believe that art. There are also things that draw to the screen so that can not move.
in Addition you also witted and almost with record of experience, because the play began in the sixties. About what were you joking?
— Exactly what — I can’t remember. But definitely I can say that at that time, the effect of KVN was akin to the explosion of almost nuclear bomb. Statistics confirmed: as soon as the TV started the WHC, outside of falling crime. This is the sixties and seventies. Our team at IISS was not much of a scene, called “inter-pants-69”. And we are there quite famously parodied all sorts of idiotic exhibition, which in those days, especially at ENEA, carried out a huge amount. Was the TV — and suddenly, our mother, calls us to himself, the rector, Nicholas A. Strelchuk. A call to the rector — it’s the same thing that to come to God. Well, just something impossible. And here we come, and in the office of the rector the dinner table. We are absolutely stunned. It turns out the rector came in and read us a telegram about this content. At a meeting of the Politburo in the “miscellaneous” section addressed the issue of criticism of the team of KVN MISI unnecessary events. Criticism is seen as appropriate, taken. Signature: Brezhnev. I saw Strelchuk twice in my life, and the second time it was already almost at the release year in the seventies. He again invited me to his team of KVN and said, “my Friends, I tried for years to fight for the creation of a large IISS. Yesterday the Central Committee of the Communist party I met Mikhail Andreyevich Suslov. We spent ten minutes talking about the team of KVN MISI and one minute decided the question of the construction of a large building, IISS”. Now this complex is on the Yaroslavl highway. That’s what was then the WHC. We, though with humor, but hinted at some pretty serious things. And it was goodbye.
— where only censorship looking?
— of course, It was not very Intrusive. We recommend something not to do, and we are young took it as a friendly Pat on the head. Now the WHC is more of theatre fun and resourceful. Less improvisation, more productions, but still looking and many people like and it’s wonderful. It’s hard for me to say that now can produce the same effect as the WHC of my youth. But then it was so.
— That KVN gives you the opportunity to do a scenethe third for such television hits of the time like “come on, girls!” and “come on, guys!”?
— then Worked in the youth edition of the television is absolutely a terrific woman Irina Y. Gavrilova. She asked us to write the first script. So we stayed there. We pretty much wrote. In addition to “And well-ka, girls!” and “come on, boys!” was the “Stadium of surprises”. I really liked the program “in the detective Game”, and we wrote her quite a lot of stories, it is a pity that her fate somehow did not work.
— You probably already was in the status of the creative class?
— Nothing happened. We were boys who were allowed to get in “Ostankino”. I well remember how, probably, the whole year kept his first-time pass. For those who have constantly worked in television, we certainly were viewed as gods, and even speakers in our submission were those with the Pope, probably, secretaries of the CPSU. Otherwise, how do people hit?
— For scripts decently paid?
— we have signed some ridiculous contracts, maybe at the time it was some money, but not huge.
Since of humor, of course, have changed greatly. You now easy to laugh?
— for example, I really like the “Ural dumplings”. They are not always funny but always fun. TV, in my opinion, should be generally positive. No matter what happens.
— All comedians with experience from time to time complain that the modern jokes are not the same. You have a claim to the new stars of humor?
— We’re not joking, and for me it’s not a high-flying humor. Here the time flows and flows around such a big lump, which is called Mikhail Zhvanetsky. And no the time won’t work. It is up and running, people in the audience die of laughter, but you know how it all deeply. Or the late Anatoly Trushkin. After all to tears laughing over his stories. Years go by, but all that does Gennady Khazanov in their pozdravlyali is phenomenal, top-class art. We know somehow about fifty years old, and I still admire. So, there are some things that remain immutable. Humor — something extremely bright, sincere, without any hints, unlike satire or sarcasm. KVN in the old days — it’s eighty percent of humor and a little satire. Sarcasm is then allowed publications like Krokodil or artists Kukryniksy. Now all satire without a hint of humor in the press, on television and radio, and humorists have strained joke to kill something that was already published. And kill does not work. Began the slide into humor below the belt, but I can not accept. I think it was grace. I have not invented that a naked woman isdemonstrates less desire because you need to think through, the imagination must play. Here the humor is about the same. It is crystal clear as a mountain stream, the history, but with imagination. Zhvanetskogo has this great phrase: “I would not cross the street to the light”. Once there is a way. Well what can I say — brilliant man. There are very few. There are several individuals who have created a school where no students. As Zhvanetsky. No one can imitate him, simply will not work.
Your book is called “little By little”, has emerged in the times when writers believed all and Sundry: from secular persons, producing tips on how to find a rich husband to mediocre journalists with the controversial memoirs of values. You don’t bother the neighbors a shelf in a bookstore?
Never really thought about it. The fact that I wrote and didn’t even publish anything. There was one person with whom we walked a lot, and I said, “If you don’t take it to a publisher, we will quarrel”. And this book is dedicated to him. And then the match went one after the other. Already, the publishing house revealed that one of its founders is the son of my teacher of the Russian language. Quite unexpectedly, my book liked it, she went to the press, but since I’m under contract have already received the money, its further fate interested me, only on how it is read and what people think about her. And the most important thing for me was the view of Michael Weller. We don’t know, but it almost rave review blew me away. Still keep it. As a result, my book had two very large circulation, and now it is sold out, it’s probably an indication that someone liked it. And with whom she was standing there on the shelf, I don’t know.
Before you wrote only in the table?
Absolutely, and all my friends knew it. To congratulate with birthdays and other holidays, I wrote small poems, which have accumulated under a thousand pieces. Now something will be taken away, and maybe get the book. Unfortunately, it is impossible to publish the correspondence. I have many friends with whom I communicate in verse, but this is so personal that you cannot print. I think I’ll disappear or remain in the family. I can’t explain why I write. Sometimes clutched myself by the hand and said, “Man, just stop, you’re not a scribbler in the end”. In fact, so I didn’t try to publish, I always had a doubt, that I write something that can be taken to readers. But to live without it I can not.
In your life there was a time when you worked as an auctioneer. How did you get into this field?
I knew very well Arseny Lobanov (known auctioneer, honored worker of arts of Russia. — MK) and when first turned on AukJonah, who he was, I was quite overwhelmed with the atmosphere in the hall. I deepened even began to collect the history of the auctions in Russia and eventually came to Yury Luzhkov with the offer on organization of the auction house in Moscow. And it this idea was immediately picked up. Remember, one charity auction, where he raised money for a hospice, I sold the cap Luzhkov. It was a great trade. I asked Yuri Mikhailovich to stand up, look into the hall and see those who would dare not buy his cap. For me, the auction is a phenomenal thing. One of the most difficult auctions, which I kept, took place in Ukraine. Old style jewellery. I was warned that in the hall are serious people. And there you go guess: when someone raised an eyebrow or nodded, then he raised the price or not? There were about sixty lots, and at the end I was absolutely soaked. I spent more than four hundred auctions. This is emotion in its purest form, for what I like.
— With this experience, perhaps you can become a collector of various interesting objects…
— I love all sorts of antique pieces and abroad, lost in the antique shops. There was one stunning event. When I first a hundred years ago were in Israel, in Jaffa, in an antique shop, I saw the cliche. The old saber, and I’m partial to melee weapons, right to die. Naturally, I wanted to buy, but I rolled out a crazy price. I fought in blood, but nothing happened. Two years later I returned and again went into this shop, and again my master traded with, and again without result. Even three years later I once again came to Israel, deliberately went to Jaffa and found this shop on the spot. The owner recognized me and we sat with a bottle of vodka that I had brought with me. As a result we have decided: shall we flip a coin and if tails, I pay the full amount. If the eagle — he gives me the sword. Throw up a coin, it falls on the stone floor and compacted to hell under a huge carved sideboard, which is generally impossible to budge. As a result, the closed shop and about four hours we tried to dig this coin. We got it, it was lying heads up. The owner gave me a sword, she’s still at my house.
If you imagine that you at some point get tired to conduct a “Field of dreams” program will be able to continue without you?
it’s difficult for Me to answer. I’m not sure what the phenomenon of “Fields of miracles”, why and what this transfer lasts for thirty years. But the TV job to bother can’t. What I’ll do if you leave the program? If you have enough money, I will write books. Now finish the second, but I don’t know whether it would provide me the opportunity to live in peace. Probably, I’d find myself on television, but not in the role of facilitator. On the other hand, I already like the old sofa, whichyy useless, but its not told to touch it, because it is the symbol of our house.
— How would you now answer the standard question “how are you”?
— Everything is fine, though a bit annoyed that I can’t. It’s awfully tiring, but someone has to deny me is very difficult. In General, I am pessimistic optimist. In many ways, I was raised in the mid-twentieth century, as education and stayed. Sometimes it is a hindrance. Over the last thirty years I haven’t been able to get my head around what happened in the country where he was born. And now it’s too late to get used to.
