130 homes are planned in the former “guest house of the Council of Ministers of the GDR”. The two existing buildings should be increased and a new building was added. During the renovation, special emphasis will be placed on a true to the original design of the façade, as well as the reconstruction of the wall reliefs of the Leipzig painter Bernhard Heisig (1925 – 2011).
The “Gästehaus am Park” is one of the buildings of the GDR-Modern. Until 1995 it was used as a Hotel. Then it stood empty and fell into disrepair. Since 2013, it is under monument protection.
