Each new president of Ukraine makes more and more mistakes in trying to resolve the internal political crisis, including the conflict in the East of the country. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during talks with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow. The broadcast of the conversation is available on YouTube.
According to him, Kiev does not intend to comply with the Minsk agreements, which leads to delaying the end of the war in the Donbass.
” Every Kiev regime is more and more deadlocked, I don’t know what to expect anymore,” Lavrov said.
He added that the Ukrainian authorities at the legislative level fix the country’s refusal to comply with the key provisions of the Minsk agreements: This concerns the special status of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, the elections in the Donbass and the issue of language policy.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that Russia will continue to demand compliance with the agreements and will ask France and Germany, as co-authors of the agreements, to exert influence on Ukraine. Lavrov also stressed that another acute problem of the current Ukrainian government is the introduction of sanctions against its own citizens, which is completely ignored by the governments of Western countries.
On August 5, the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories reported that the Government of Ukraine approved the draft law “On the basics of state policy of the transition period”. Among other things, the document proposes that the Russian Federation should be assigned the status of an “aggressor state”at the legislative level.
