the Comedian Lars Hjortshøj is filled 52. He can feel a greater desire to leave a mark.
He is used to be fun both on stage as a comedian, as an actor in various sketchshows and entertaining radio host.
But even though Lars Hjortshøj has a long career behind him, enters now he’s out in deep water in the series “Big Lars”, as he has written the script and plays the lead role in.
For although he describes it as a comedy, so must the more than to get people to laugh.
– There are some very touching scenes between me and Martin Brygman, as we haven’t made before, ” explains Lars Hjortshøj.
People know us the most as a gag and fun, but we would like to show that we can also the second. We have been very concerned of the pain and that there must be something to lose, he says.
the Comedian can sense that he is with the ages have got more courage to go into roles where there are more feelings at stake.
– I have been more concerned to give people something. I have made my share of crazy skits with fake teeth and funny hat, which not necessarily had so much content, but which were fun, he says.
– It is probably very natural in relation to the age that you have it, if you need to put a tiny imprint, so I’d better hurry me a bit, ” says the comedian.
In the series occupies the role as Lars, a comedian, who never really achieved it, he would. He sees how his colleagues get their breakthrough abroad and get big spillefilmskontrakter, while he still has difficulty to find its place.
Even though it could sound like anything, it was taken out of reality, as colleagues, as Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam, as Lars Hjortshøj played together with in “the Clown”, have taken the leap abroad, so is it not quite like that.
– You take some of his own personality traits, and screws up a bit for some and down for others. “Big Lars” is about to lose himself in the pursuit of recognition. It’s funny and a little pathetic, when looking for it in the wrong places, as I do in the series, says Lars Hjortshøj.
Even feel he has not, he has been passed over. But it’s also that he does not need the kind of recognition one can get by being a public person.
I found myself quickly out of the important recognition is in love – true love. I have had the same wife for over 20 years. I will find the right recognition of her and of my children and my close friends, he says.
– All the trappings and attention that is associated with my work, is completely no matter. It is, I don’t care. It is not that I, in fact, be judged for, ” explains Lars Hjortshøj.
When he looks back at what he has achieved through the years, he is quite satisfied.
– I don’t think of it as my career. I think of it as my working life. And the work I’m rather proud of. I think I have put the ass in klaskehøjde on both good and evil, he says and elaborates:
– I am still reminded about things I did 20 years ago as the “Casper and the Mandrilaftalen”, as people still talk about. And I am proud to have been one of the pioneers of Danish standup. We took it from the underground to something that is mainstream, and as you can see in the television. I don’t believe it, we had imagined at the time, says the comedian.
But although he has achieved much, he has no plans to rest on our laurels.
– It is hugely privileged to be over the age of 50 and feel that there is so much out there, I still need to learn. I’m damn well not to sit in the shade and enjoy all of it, I have their heads shaved together. It is not fun. It interests me more to risk it.
– I know, you don’t get points for that risk or be brave, but it could be, there were some who noticed, he says.
“Big Lars” is set to premiere the 23. april on TV3 and Viaplay.
