For months, supply chain problems have caused disruptions in the US markets, resulting in shortages of medicine, alcohol, athleisure, gasoline, and other products. According to The New York Times, New York’s bagel shops are having difficulty meeting the demand for the condiment because their suppliers are running low on stock.
Kraft, the manufacturer of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, has offered a $20 rebate to 18,000 customers for desserts that do not contain cream cheese during this holiday season.
The company stated that cheesecake is a holiday tradition many families look forward too on a promotional site. “So even though cheesecake may not be on as many holiday tables this year we want to ensure that you still feel the holiday spirit, even through other desserts.”
Cream cheese buyers interested in purchasing cream cheese can register to win one of the 10,000 spots available on the promotion site. The offer will be open Friday, 12 p.m. EDT. Additional 8,000 slots will be available Saturday at 12:01 EST.
The unique link will be sent to those who have been granted a place. Customers can purchase “any dessert” after confirmation of their reservation as long as they have a receipt that is dated between Dec. 24 and Friday, December 24, as long as the receipt dates between Friday and Dec. 24.
According to the promotion website, customers will be able to use their unique link starting Dec. 28 to submit their receipt to get a “chance at $20 digital reward.”
It is possible that the supply shortage will not end anytime soon.
Kraft spokesperson told The New York Times, that there is still a high demand for certain products.
The spokesperson stated that “as more people continue eating breakfast at home and using cream cheese in easy desserts, this trend will continue.”
