Jürgen Kasek, Leipzig City Councilor and Greens politician, has had to answer to a court in the past for a statement on Twitter. Now he causes a stir with the next confused post.
With a tweet on Wednesday morning, Leipzig city councilor Jürgen Kasek caused a lot of head shaking. “Motor boats and yachts on Leipzig lakes? Sink?!?” Kasek wrote on his channel. After initial dissatisfaction on the net, he tried to justify himself: “I tried to exacerbate a problem. I didn’t succeed.”
And further: “It was supposed to be bitter cynicism, but it didn’t work. Maybe if I want to do satire, I need to create a satire account.”
Other Green City Councilors have also made questionable statements on social networks in recent weeks. Susanne Krause recently described drivers in Dresden as “tin skulls”. Her former colleague Robert Schlick shared the following comment on Twitter: “Maybe you should just let Saxony burn down in a controlled manner.”
